Two regulations regarding distance selling

Ever heard of distance selling? Online selling (or ecommerce) is one way. Another is through importation. Distance selling in modern use, is the opposite of direct selling in such a way that the “sellers” do not get into personal contact with their “customers”.
If you are engaged in distance selling, there are two kinds of regulations you need to comply with: the Consumer Protection Regulations (for distance selling) and the Electronic Commerce Regulations.

The CPR for direct selling covers all businesses that sell to customers through mail order, fax, phone, over the internet and even digital TV. It requires you to provide customers with exact information about a product they want to order or purchase. You need specified written information or a durable proof for the conclusion of the contract. You also need to send customers an order confirmation through any method. Services should be provided in good time and products should be delivered as agreed upon in the contract. You will also need to give consumers the right to cancel an order within a certain period of time.

The Electronic Commerce Regulations have almost the same rules on businesses that sell or advertise products through the internet, email, interactive digital television and mobile phone. Through this, you are required to outline the steps needed to be done in order for a contract to be completed.

These regulations are just two of the most important you need to keep in mind when you are planning to setup a website in order to make money online.
