Internet Marketing As Compared To Traditional Marketing

Internet marketing is basically the marketing and selling of products by companies or individuals over the internet. It uses a different approach than the traditional marketing methods. Internet Marketing generally follows the following principles-

• One to one approach- This aims at reaching the target customer directly and personally by the use of specific keywords.
• Appealing to specific interests- Internet marketing can be based on marketing towards customers having an interest in specific products. The company knows exactly what the customer wants and just markets in a specific way.
• Use of geo-targeting- This is basically the marketing of products based on the country, state, city, zip code or even IP address of the customer.
• Having Different content by choice- This involves having diverse content based on specific choices made by the customer. For example the choice of products for a specific country chosen by the customer.

Internet marketing can be advantageous because it is relatively inexpensive, more convenient as well as appealing and the results can be obtained faster than the traditional forms of marketing, it also allows the sellers to get an idea about the choices of consumers and thus determine products which would bring greater profit to their businesses.
