Most newcomers start out blogging on free blog platforms such as Blogger.com or WordPress.org.

But then they realize that maintaining control over their blog on a domain of their own is of utmost importance - as it then becomes an asset you own - and WordPress is what most people use to create an online presence.

It’s very easy to insert a WordPress blog into your domain once you have hosting with a cPanel. Here’s what you do using HostGator, for example:

1.)    Log into your hosting account and click the Fantastico button (a smiley face) under the Software and Services section.

2.)    On the left-hand side, under Blogs, click on the WordPress link.

3.)    Click the New Installation link.

4.)    From the drop-down menu, pick which domain you want to install the blog on. You can also choose where to install the blog. If you want the blog on the primary domain, then leave the space blank where it says, “Install in directory,” but you may want to put a landing page on the primary domain and put your blog on a different area such as domainname.com/blog.

5.)    Enter your admin nickname and password that you’ll use to manage the blog’s content on a regular basis.

6.)    Click Install WordPress.

The next screen will show you where your access URL will be for your blog. Make sure you keep track of this information. To complete the process, click Finish Installation. Once your blog is installed, you can pick a theme that will match your niche topic.

Then you’re ready to start posting to your blog! The more you post, the more often various search engine spiders will visit your blog and index your site for relevancy to your niche topic.

Make sure you post frequently and use keyword phrases in the titles of your blog posts as well as your content. Have a strategy in place to monetize your blog with the sale of your own products or as an affiliate to promote someone else’s products.

Do you remember who landed on the moon first ever? Of course! Do you remember member who had first conquered the Mount Everest – the tallest peak in the world? Of course! Do you remember who the third human being to ever conquer the Mount Everest was? Or the second on to conquer the moon, for that matter? I don’t know about you, but I don’t. And I learned an extremely valuable piece of information at the enlightened wealth institute – either you are the best or you are among the rest.

How does that relate to an online business? It does, in several ways.

1. You would want to be the winner in your own rights – you would always want the customer to come to you and not love it if you are not the preferred choice of your customer’s destination. Yet, if you do not present yourself as the winner in the eyes of your customer, why would they come to you? Think of it, if you ever have a chance to get the best item, would you select the second best? As an online business you would also expect your customer to behave the same way.

2. You would feel equally bad, if not worse, if a customer returns to your market but dose not return to you. Once customers are made, you would want them to stick with you – and they won’t stick unless they feel you are the best. At the enlightened wealth institute I have picked up a few really effective ways to gain a customer and another few great ways that ensure that my customer remains my customer for the rest of life.

3. And finally, you would want to acquire new customers. If you manage your online reputation well enough to be marked as the best, you would be surprised to find how many customers simply walk into your online business, even ditching their older ones if that means so.
