It is more than building a website with a pretty banner and cool graphics. There are important things to learn to build traffic to your site. Many Internet marketing newbies think their job is done when the website is live. That would be like a new parent thinking their job was done when the baby was born. In reality the real work is just beginning. There are articles to write, backlinks to build and social media participation is a must.

Great traffic building will help get the Internet marketer to the Holy Grail, Google, Page One (hear the music to Rocky in the background). There are many technical things that can be done to build your way up the Google ladder. I believe that the best way to gain popularity Online is to deliver true quality content for your visitors. People want to come back again and again when they feel respected. Some blog writers and Internet marketers put shallow junk on their sites just to get it going. People aren’t ignorant; they know when you are coming from the heart.

So, now you have a nice website, great, quality content and are ready for the droves of potential buyers to come for a visit. Up to now, it’s like you have a fabulous restaurant in the middle of nowhere; no one knows you’re there. The enlightened wealth institute mentor instructed me that this is the time to get to work building those backlinks. In case you are an Internet marketing newbie and don’t understand what I’m talking about, backlinks are connections from other websites to yours. They are like a vote of popularity. Therefore, the more you have the better!

Backlink building is an ongoing activity; not a one time task that you do and forget it. At first, that sounded like a drag to me. Now, I love to play a game of backlink building and seeing my backlinks build my Online business to a huge empire. Just like there isn’t a day without brushing my teeth, there isn’t a day when I’m not working at building thousands of those beautiful little backlinks.

Many Internet marketing newbies say that they cannot write their own marketing articles because they aren’t good writers. Keep in mind, these do not have to be doctoral papers. All it takes is a little research and then putting that in your own words. The traffic this will bring to your Internet marketing business will be worth the effort.
