Marketing amidst the turmoil – the right choice

I know the economy is in dire stage right now and a lot of investors are actually pulling out their money from banks and other financial institutions. People are talking about the possible effects of the financial turmoil to the internet world – will the people who are making money online going to be affected? Will internet marketing be able to remedy the situation in case it happens?

According to the B2B magazine, this is the best time for companies to take advantage of marketing opportunities. During this time, a lot of companies have tightened their budget and are cutting down on advertising expenses but a study done by the American Business Press on businesses during the period of 1974 to 75 shows that those companies which did not cut their advertising expenditure were able to increase their sales to a much as 200% two years later. Compare this to 50% increase in sales of companies which did cut back their advertising expenses.

With a deepening economy, it is always marketing that is first sacrificed. This is a great thing for smart competitors as it allows you to cut through the clutter and the fanfare and introduce your business to a new audience.
